Marilyn Fairman reports from PleinAir Magazine's Adirondack Paint-Out

This just in from IPAP Signature Member Marilyn Fairman:

"I just returned from attending the June 21-26th "Publisher's Invitational Paint the Adirondacks" PleinAirTM Magazine outdoor painting event in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.
PleinAir Magazine Publisher B. Eric Rhoads organized this wonderful, memorable event. Eric’s vision to have a plein air event for artists that was not a competition enabled us to paint, socialize, share our painting experiences and get to know artists from all over the country. Despite the rain, we painted every day and brought our wet paintings back to display during the social gatherings each evening. Over 80 artists participated, and it is estimated that 500 to 700 works were painted over the six days! It was a fabulous week. I got to meet so many interesting, friendly and accomplished plein air artists!"

What fun you must all had! I hope many of the artists will come join us on Sept. 10th for the first annual IPAP Worldwide Paintoutin Newburgh, NY at the new SUNY Orange Campus on the Hudson River. There is no fee as it is also a day for the artists. The rain date is Sept. 11th.

It really was special, to paint in the Adirondacks. The traditional Hudson River School painting locations were outstanding and the artists were friendly and sharing of their skills and secrets. So glad I went!
