Feature Artist February 2008 - Nancy Albrecht

Wide-spread recognition has come to Nancy Albrecht’s paintings with three awards at the Cedarburg Wisconsin Plein Air Festival in 2006, Best of Show at Next Picture Show Gallery’s Art & Architecture Exhibit, and a sell-out solo show at the prestigious University Club of Chicago Gallery in January 2007. Her work was described by Chicago writer Robert Kameczura as having “…strong geometry, bold paint surfaces, lyric details and optimistic strength.” Active in the Plein Air Painters of Chicago. Signature Member of International Plein Air Painters, and associate member of Landscape Artists International, this urban landscape painter recharges her batteries by painting in rural areas and small towns across the country. A catalog of her work can be found on her website www.nancyalbrechtstudio.com, and on www.fineartamerica.com. She is represented by the prestigious Lotton Gallery on Michigan Avenue in Chicago (go to www.lottongallery.com ) and a lifetime Artist Member of the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago.

Artists around the world who find themselves in Chicago and want to paint-out with a group, are invited to go to the blog at http://www.pleinairpaintersofchicago.blogspot.com any Thursday to find out where the group will paint the following Saturday from 8:30 to noon.
