International Plein Air Painters has begun it's 15th Anniversary Celebration !

International Plein Air Painters IPAP will be celebrating its 15th Anniversary in 2016. That's not all that far away for planning. We're grateful for your friendship and sharing of talent and always being available for guidance . We'd like to get some workable ideas for a few different member activities with at least one or two online for members. What would be wonderful, is to have a few members with experience at planning events or fun projects/exhibits/fundraisers for worthy charitable organizations. Sherrie Russ Levine

Artist's Statement

Sherrie Russ Levine was born in Georgetown, South Carolina and attended Ringling School of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida where she received her degree in graphic design and illustration. After graduating she worked in advertising agencies and corporate art departments in Atlanta, Georgia for 10 years before making Nashville, Tennessee her home. Since 1995 she has focused her energy on paintings in oil and has shown in galleries and juried shows throughout the United States. 

Levine is an artist noted for her loose impressionist paintings filled with evocative light and color. Her works capture the mood or atmosphere of any subject with expressive brushwork and just enough details to invite you to take a closer look. She often travels to find new inspiration and paints en plein air when on location, or always from life in the studio.

Carol was born in Jamaica but from age 3 grew up in Bristol, England. After high school she attended West Surrey College of Art and Design but left early to become mostly a self taught artist. In 1995 Carol moved to Southwest Florida and became an American citizen in 2001. She continues to paint from her explorations in areas of preserved nature such as State and National Parks, Wildlife Refuges and Preserves as well as recording everyday scenery en plein air.

His work is exhibited internationally and in the past decade has been in solo or group venues at the National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Butler Institute of American Art, Woodmere Art Museum, Pierrepont Fine Arts, Arcadia Gallery, and Hirschl & Adler Galleries. Among the institutions at which he has lectured are Yale University Art Gallery, and Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.

The most recent publications debuted fall and winter 2012: American Artist DVD,

"The Artist's Guide to Linear Perspective with Patrick Connors."
