Plein Air Painter - me & James Cameron Niagara Falls Arts & Culture Wall of Fame

American Contemporary plein air painter.

Recently I had the honor of being inducted into the Niagara Falls Arts & Culture Wall of Fame along with Director James Cameron, of AVATAR and TITANIC fame.
As an American living and working in Niagara Falls, Canada, I was especially honored to be included with the names that make up the Wall of Fame.

Plein Air Painter - Niagara Falls art workshop June 6-7

2 day Oil or acrylic outdoor workshop painting Niagara
Falls.
Experience level : Beginner to Intermediate

Prerequisite Student Skills: It is suggested that beginners have the
experience of at least one drawing course.


Students bring their own supplies: The workshop is taught using a limited
primary color pallette.
A complete list of suggested oil & acrylic pigments is supplied.
Canvas board or stretched canvas 12 x 16 or smaller. A support for
canvas and carrying materials.
Incidental list also provided. A painting umbrella is strongly
suggested.


Class maximum : 15 students

Niagara Falls Arts & Culture Day

The Niagara Falls Arts and Culture Committee had a community arts awareness day recently at Niagara Square on McCloud Rd in Niagara Falls.
The purpose was to remind area residents of the vast array of arts organizations and of course, talent and culture groups.
I had a display, along with information set up about International Plein Air Painters, a WORLDWIDE Organization. In September each year IPAP has brought in plein air painters to compete for awards as part of the annual WORLDWIDE Paint Out.

The 5th WORLDWIDE Paint Out took place the weekend of September 7th with plein air painters painting in a variety of locations globally.

In Niagara Falls, Ontario, at Queen Victoria Park International Plein Air Painters headquarters, artists came from all over North America to paint the famous cataract, hosted by the Niagara Parks Commission.

For the second year the competition awarded two Best of Shows sponsored by the cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario and Niagara Falls, New York.

The Honorable Mayor Ted Salci and Executive Director, J. R. Baldini, announced the competition results at an artists awards exhibit on September 8th at Eagle Valley Golf Club, Niagara Falls.
