Feature Artist - October 2007 Doug Martin


Doug’s paintings are the expressions of his reactions to the intensity, subtlety and wonders of this amazing world. “If I can bring enough of the “feeling” of a place to my viewers they can, in their mind, fill in those details that impressionistic painting leaves open to individual interpretation. And it’s just those details that personalize a piece of art and allow each viewer to participate in “finishing” the piece thus making their experience with the painting unique.”

Doug Martin has been invited to participate in the 9th Annual Laguna Plein Air Painting Invitational. The venue for the show is The Laguna Art Museum with the gala opening taking place on October 13, 2007. For more information go to lpapa.org.
Doug will be the Feature Artist for October at International Plein Air Painters website.

BRENDA HOFREITER's painting "Yellow Flowers" won First Place in May at a regional juried competition at Osceola Center for the Arts in Kissimmee, FL.

JULIE HOUCK's painting, "A Desert Dawn" was juried into the national Paint America competition and also won a juror's award. The exhibit will travel across the country for the next year.

BONNY C. WHITE's painting "Green Pastures" has been accepted into the American Academy of Women Artists show Visions of America on display at the Bennington Center For The Arts in Bennington, VT from July 28th - Sept. 9th. She is a member of the AAWA, IPAP, OPA, and the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts.
